Top 10 Photos I’ve Taken On My Phone
What It Is: TikTok users are once again exposing their camera rolls; but instead of embarrassing photos from childhood or random screenshots, this time it's to show off the top 10 photos that they’ve taken on their device. These photos could range from the view of a snow capped mountain to fireworks on the beach and anywhere in between. Users typically will include little descriptions of what the photo actually is as well as context around the scenario in which they took it. This trend has been a fun way in for those who consider themselves amateur photographers to show off their work, and has not only served as a window into the user's camera roll - but their life.
Brand Takeaway: For brands, the idea of a “camera roll” can be a really fun space to play in. First, is this coming from the POV of the brand itself? The POV of your dearly beloved mascot? Maybe even just your social media manager, adding personality or lore to their story? The possibilities are endless. Now beyond the POV, the actual content of the photos could lay the foundation for your account to thrive. Through a trend like this a brand could begin soft launching their interests or fandoms they’re a part of without having to shove it down followers throats. Instead of a dedicated post to how much your brand might love a musician, maybe consider planting an easter egg - like an album vinyl in the corner of a photo - that will allow fans to feel as though they’ve uncovered something deeper about the brand. By showing interests in a natural scenario our brands can feel more naturally included into fandom, therefore increasing the chances that we are accepted by fellow fans and followers alike.
