POV: A Day in the Life
What It Is: Have you ever wondered what it would be like to wake up as a builder of the Pyramids of Giza? Or during the Salem Witch Trials? Thanks to TikTok’s latest viral trend, you can wonder no more. Through AI, users are finding themselves placed into the bodies of historical figures or in historical contexts to get a deeper look at what a day in their lives may have looked like. With topics ranging from waking up as a teenager during Covid-19 to waking up as Michael Jackson, there isn’t a limit to where a user can adventure. And as most trends do, we've already seen this one evolve, now including fictional landscapes like waking up as Shrek or in the Hunger Games – providing creators with infinite options to explore in their executions.
Brand Takeaway: This trend began with AI-generated content, though it has evolved to users filming versions of it themselves. Overall, it uses entertainment to educate social users about experiences they may not be familiar with. For brands, it can be a fun way to humanize themselves and give followers an inside look into their everyday, making them feel part of the experience of the brand instead of an outsider looking in.
