What it is: In this trend, TikTok users are making important announcements and confessions utilizing an upbeat video template from CapCut. Who they are: Wise Words From Neve. Neve got her start on TikTok by making awkward dad jokes, and she is still going strong! Amassing over 300k followers, Neve's platform is unique because of her delivery of the joke, the deadpan stare into the camera as she makes them, and the emphasis on the uncomfortable silence around her. Her followers tend to play along and serve their best puns in the comment section.
Why we love them: We love Neve because of her consistent format that keeps her followers coming back for more and more uncomfortable watches. Neve shows us that self-aware and not-so-buttoned-up content can be more relatable for the viewer and that there is beauty in the "excruciating watch".
