#MentalHealthAwarenessMonth: May is Mental Health Awareness Month and social users are opening up on social, giving tips, and supporting each other.
How brands can jump in: If this is a cause your brand has a history of supporting, highlight the importance of the month on social or send out a tweet that serves as a little reminder for your followers to take a break and care for themselves.
#AAPIHeritageMonth: May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and Twitter users are taking to the app to celebrate their culture or pop culture figures representative of this heritage.
How brands can jump in: If your brand or admins have an Asian American and/or Pacific Islander icon they love, celebrate them online. Do so cautiously and make sure this is a community that you have historically supported.
“Met Monday”: The biggest fashion event of the year is taking place today in NYC and social users are looking back at past year’s looks, moments, and favorite celebrity appearances. They’re also sharing their thoughts and feelings about what to expect this year.
How brands can jump in: If you’re mentioning this trend on social, do so cautiously as this year’s theme celebrates late designer Karl Lagerfeld, who has a history of controversies including fatphobia, misogyny, homophobia, racism, and Islamaphobia.
"April BFFs" (Twitter Circle Best Friends)
What it is: Now that April is over, Twitter users are sharing screenshots of their Twitter Circle Best Friends. Users are creating the images on TwitterCircle.com and they consist of all the accounts they interact with the most on the app.
How brands can jump in: Brands can jump on this trend by creating their own circles on any editing software. You can include the accounts that you interact with the most or give the trend your own twist by only including things related to your brand in your circle.
Examples: 1, 2, 3
Urgency level: Hot: Jump into this trend now as it's most relevant as soon as the month ends.
