Game Day! Players and spectators of all levels, divisions, and sports are celebrating game day today. Mostly geared toward college football, fans are posting about how excited they are for sports to be back. The sentiment is "do what you need to do to make it through the day - it's game day!!"
How brands can jump in: If your brand is sport-inclined, weigh in on your excitement for game day!
Happy Birthday Bruno: Users are wishing a very happy birthday to Bruno, the retired guide and therapy dog! He's 19 today!
How brands can jump in: Trending high in the list, this could be a cute interaction for your brand. Wish Bruno a happy birthday!
#The80sSaidBringBack ________. Got something from the 80s you wish would make a return? Share about it like other Twitter users and make some noise!
How brands can jump in: Does your brand have 80s packaging or an old logo/campaign you could share about? Could be a cute little tweet opportunity!
Girl explaining
What it is: Paired with a photo of a woman yelling into the ear of a man while he looks completely disinterested, users are sharing something they feel strongly about, typically in all caps, like the plot of a movie or show, a fact about their brand, etc. The idea is that you're mansplaining, but from the point of view of a woman this time. Remember the man explaining images? Role reversal time, except now, it's a little more meta.
How brands can jump in: Share a fact about your brand in an over-explained way, make an in-character joke if you have more of a mascot/personality friendly brand, or just comment on pop culture. There's so many ways in on this one that most people will just get what it is based on the photo and all-caps caption.
Examples: 1, 2, 3
Urgency level: It's been going for about a day, but there's some renewed energy after KnowYourMeme found the original girl. Get in on this ASAP or don't at all!
