What brands should know: Consider going dark or pay close attention to any content that you have planned for today. Monitor Twitter throughout the day for the latest updates on this situation.
"Send Me $$ Or I'm Leaking All Your Photos"
What it is: TikTok users are showing off the photos in their camera roll through this fun trend where they pretend to be blackmailed by a hacker. The joke is, users WANT to leak these photos — some are using this trend to share cute photos of themselves while others are using it to show off quirky and weird parts of their personalities. Be very careful about any implications of actual hacking (!!)
How brands can jump in: To jump in on this trend, think of what the camera roll of a brand’s community manager would look like. Are they obsessed with one of your products or one aspect of your brand? Is your social personality one of your products who is obsessed with taking selfies? Do they have weird and out-of-pocket screenshots and pictures? This trend is all about getting weird and having fun. Start your TikTok or Reel with “Send me (x amount of money) or I’m leaking all your photos” and then follow this frame with a slideshow of several of the photos in your camera roll.

Urgency level: HOT! This trend has been heating up since early November and everyone is jumping on it now. Jump on it as soon as you can!
