Be Real: Everything you need to know about the new social media platform
What it is: Be Real is a new social media platform currently gaining momentum with Gen Z users for its emphasis on authenticity. The app prompts you at random times of the day to take a quick snap using both your front and back camera simultaneously, posting within a two-minute window of the notification to allow friends to see what you're doing in real-time. The app takes away the planning from social media, resulting in a more "real" representation of you.
How brands can jump in: The app's in-the-moment approach to social media makes creating branded content within the platform a challenge. But if you've got a Gen Z-heavy fanbase who are likely using Be Real, consider alluding to the app on your other channels! For example, you could photoshop a typical Be Real post to include a photo of your product and the selfie element could be your brand mascot with a caption like "I'm just being real here".
Examples: 1, 2, 3
Urgency level: Low. While Gen Z users are starting to flock to the platform, there has yet to be brand infiltration.
