Pink Sauce
What it is: In June, a Miami-based private chef and TikToker Carly Pii (@chef.pii), unveiled a strange condiment called "Pink Sauce," posting multiple videos of herself drowning her food in it. The sauce, which costs $20 a bottle, has stirred up discourse on TikTok and Twitter. She has refused to explain exactly what it tastes like (some are saying ranch but… bad) and there has been a lot of controversy around the nutrition label, which shows incorrect serving sizes and misspellings in key ingredients. Users have also pointed out milk as a key ingredient despite this product being shipped unrefrigerated, leading to food safety concerns. Carly Pii has since made a TikTok addressing these issues but TikTokers in the comments are not buying it.
What brands should consider: There’s a lot of silly jokes circulating about this sauce across social media. But before jumping in as a brand, it’s important to know the real food safety concerns with the sauce outlined above.
