#LizTruss - resigns as UK Prime Minister after 45 days in office. She's the shortest-serving Prime Minister to date. Twitter users are sounding off about her controversial policies and finding humor by comparing the short-lived time in office to things that last longer, like a head of lettuce.
What brands should know: Many in the UK were affected by the controversial policies under the former Prime Minister and are using Twitter as their outlet. This is not a brand-safe opportunity to hop in on.
#Billie - Billie Eilish is trending this AM as more pictures are surfacing with her and alleged new bae, Jesse Rutherford, singer of the Neighbourhood. Fans aren't thrilled with the pairing due to a significant age gap.
What brands should know: Twitter users are raising an eyebrow about the age gap between the two and it's best to sit this one out.
#Midnights / #MeetMeAtMidnight - Swifties are flooding the timeline with excitement around the new album to drop Friday, October 21 at Midnight! The album leaked earlier in the week but the Swifties are showing their support for the artist and respecting the release date.

Midnight Era
What it is: Screaming, crying, throwing up??? Swifties everywhere are rejoicing that at the next midnight (this Friday), it's officially an end to the Red (Taylor's Version) era and we're entering the Midnight era, with the release of Taylor Swift's new album, Midnight! This is the artist's 10th studio album and is incredibly anticipated by fans. Twitter and TikTok users are not only anticipating the album but staying close for a "special very chaotic surprise" to be announced (3am ET) that was teased on TikTok. Users have been sharing their excitement in a humorous way and pairing it with custom assets like the clock pictured on the album cover.
How brands can jump in: If your brand participates in music discourse, use this opportunity to support the singer's newest album release. There's a ton of conversation about the chaos to come, tell us if your brand staying up all night for the release, or tease it with a custom asset of a clock, similar to the album cover.

Urgency level: 🔥 Hot -the clock is quite literally ticking🔥

What it is: We're seeing Gen Z fantasizing about being "dumb" on the internet. There's no doubt that Gen Z has had access to the internet since they were old enough to hold a phone. They feel an enormous amount of pressure from having all of these social, worldly issues at their fingertips. They're unable to find joy on the internet and have essentially been doom-scrolling from the pressure of all of this knowledge. Enter the idea or lack of an idea, of this "no thoughts, just vibes" notion that shows they don't know and they don't care. This way of coping is used to combat the information overload they're experiencing when they step online. TV personalities like Hayley Hughes from UK Love Island had a video go viral, where she was unable to understand simple things like the differentiation of a country, county, and continent. Gen Z TikTok users reacted with comments imagining how peaceful it must be to live inside her mind.
What we can learn: Considering how Gen Z is digesting information, how our brands show up is important. What do our brands stand for? Are we just flooding the feed with evergreen content to support this "no thoughts, just vibes" trend? How thin is the line between establishing brand purpose and finding ways to spread awareness but not making it feel too heavy for your followers?
