What it is: Twitter users are pairing the phrase "when i say i got that dog in me this is what i mean" or, more simply, "i got that dog in me" with an image of something tangentially dog-related — whether that be food, a mascot or a popular meme. The phrase, originally meant to describe someone who is mentally tough and able to perform in important situations, was primarily used in the sports world before other groups started picking it up. Today, the trending phrase is synonymous with silliness and some irony and can be widely interpreted.
How brands can jump in: Let that dawg out by tweeting this trending phrase with a funny or cute image related to your brand. It can be super scrappy — think a stock image of a dog or (hot)dog with your product. The image should be unexpected and playful, and it definitely doesn't have to be perfect.
