Barbiecore
What it is: With Greta Gerwig's take on Barbie being shot right now, Twitter is being treated to a near-consistent stream of set photos featuring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling in matching bright outfits and bleach blonde hair. While it may not be the only direct driver of Barbiecore, it is heavily playing into this new aesthetic trend. Barbiecore is exactly what it sounds like: dressing like a Barbie doll. Acting as somewhat of an antithesis to goth, however almost running parallel to it, (goth of course has its own take on Barbiecore that expresses itself in blatant irony) with bright pinks, and going blonde, it's another way people are looking to find a sense of brightness, color and individuality at a time that lends itself to darkness and stress, politically and beyond.
