Try Guys: Yesterday it was revealed that founding member of the popular Youtube Series turned brand the Try Guys Ned Fulmer had a consensual affair with a Junior Producer/colleague. The Try Guys, Ned, and Ned's wife Ariel released individual statements explaining that Ned was no longer part of the group.
What Brands should consider: While we are always looking for things to comment on in the internet cultural zeitgeist, Brands should be mindful of how sensitive conversations like this are approached when those at the center are large influencers like the Try Guys who have history of working with brands. When it comes to personal lives, brands should be sitting out of the conversation.
Date Idea:
What it is: Summer's over so it's officially cuffing season which means Twitter users are settling down for the cold(er) months and looking for fun date ideas in the mean time. Users are suggesting dates ranging from the heartfelt and nice to the sarcastic and wild. As long as it's with the one they're interested in, anything can be a date!
How brands can jump in: Pitch a date idea using your brand's product, icons, mascots, or fan behaviors. Go sweet and sentimental or rain chaos with something your fans would love to do with your brand that is maybe even a bit reckless (but brand safe!). This could also be a fun opp to pull in another brand for the perfect date, just remember to start it off with "Date idea:"
