"Wait, I have a present for you."
This TikTok trend uses the carousel feature to show stock imagery of a present being opened, and the last slide features a little, yet silly surprise. The last image can be anything. From a photo of a flying Capybara to a someone/something saying, "Howdy!" Think of this trend as the opposite of a jump scare. It is a scroll to be delighted.
How brands can jump in: Make this trend your own by using this format and surprising your fans with a branded greeting at the end (i.e., a Nutter Butter wearing a miniature cowboy hat saying “howdy!”).

Gen Z’s Distorted Sense of Selfie
What it is: Obviously, distorted selfies have become popularized by Gen Z. From 0.5 ultra-wide-angle lens selfies to traffic mirror selfies, and lo-fi digital camera shots, the new #NoFilter selfie is warped. TikTok is largely to thank for this shift in selfie culture. The hashtag #trafficmirror has more than 20 million views on TikTok.
What we can learn: Gen Z is changing fashion, culture, politics, the workplace, and more. They are challenging beauty standards by sharing selfies that are not always flattering. It's almost rebellious — an essential part of today's youth culture.
