What it is: The Bear has returned on FX for a second season. The show focuses on Carmen Berzatto, a brilliant young chef from the fine dining world that has returned to his hometown of Chicago to run his family's Sandwich shop. While the show has been praised in the past for capturing the realities of culinary life, TikTok has been focusing on a separate aspect of the show for this season: the fashion. From details as small as a bandana featured on the show to Carmie's classic white t-shirt, TikTok users have found the fashion choices from the show and are calling attention to the stylists choices and what they mean for the characters.
What brands can learn: Social users are paying attention to the little details and highlighting the thought that goes into them to create content around the content they are consuming. While people's attention spans have gotten shorter and shorter, what keeps them coming back for more (or at least staying until the end of a video) is exploring the lore behind products, brands, etc. This can range from the fashion choices in television shows as highlighted here, to internet phenomena such as the viral Blue Couch and its importance to the cultural zeitgeist. The audience loves to feel in the know and included.
