The President is Watching Movies
What it is: When President Joe Biden admitted he was more concerned about AI after watching Mission: Impossible 7 there was initial reaction of "good." But in classic Twitter ways, Film Twitter took it and made the President a cinephile who is emotionally impacted by films just like us. In a humorous way users began taking films and distilling them down to their simple themes and elaborated on how "Joe Biden grew more concerned" about the elements.
What brands can learn: Users on Twitter/X are willing to project themselves and their interest onto almost anyone or anything and even the President's reactions are no exception. This also leans into the absurdity style response to politics we've seen more and more on this platform--especially during this administration. While many of the people who tweet these memes out identify at liberals, they're more realistic and willing to call out and laugh at funny moments that have come out of the Biden-Harris administration. While they're humorous, it doesn't mean they lack political punch and opinions when it counts. This behavior is more of an extension on how we've seen Gen Z and younger millennials laugh at themselves and the world around them in the face of futility.
