What it is: It all started when people found the absurd tweets from a user over three days begging for a white girl to save him. No one knew the context, it was the user's first tweet, but something about the utter absurdity and nihilism connected with X users over the last week or so. This has become stan language to celebrate the pop culture actors, characters, or hyper specific attributes that keep people going. Now people are just simply tweeting for things to save them.... save them please...
What brands can learn: In a world where Gen Z feels more cynical and nihilistic than ever, fully embracing our collective mental health is in. As more folks struggle with depression, and the holiday season and dark days are among us, people are turning to dark humor. Of course, this has naturally extended to people using the dark language to celebrate the things that they do love and hopefully connect with others in their niche fandoms. This is an opportunity if Gen Z is your muse to speak directly to their nihilism and fandom via your product. Just make sure you don't swing too hard into the cynicism if it's off brand.
