What it is: In a recent paper by the Scientific Journal, nearly 75% of students surveyed admitted that they plan to use ChatGPT to help them complete their homework. ChaptGPT's performance is considered the same, if not better, than a students and current AI-detectors cannot detect the use of ChatGPT in schoolwork. While some teachers are embracing this new technology others find it challenging and treat AI-plagiarism seriously. The jury is still out on ChatGPT and the ethics of using it, but it's safe to say that ChatGPT will be this year's hottest back to school accessory.
What brands can learn: ChatGPT impacts almost every industry. Brands have to decide if they are interested in using ChatGPT to help create content, social media posts and original ideas or if they want to maintain the traditional methods of ideation. ChatGPT produces content at a much faster speed than any human could, so this could be a good tool for brands to use in time sensitive situations. However, ChatGPT does not yet have the capacity to deliver humanity in its content therefore using it for content ideation that is funny, sarcastic, emotional, etc. is a high speed, low quality risk. ChatGPT is here to stay (for now), so brands should consider using it to support time sensitive projects.
