Admin reveals
What it is: Followers don't just want to consume content from their favorite brands anymore — they also want to see who's running the accounts. An admin reveal is when the owner (admin) of an account posts a picture or video of themselves for the first time. There's usually anticipation built up by fans around this breaking of the fourth wall, and the reveal can either be a satisfying answer to their curious comments or a funny cliff hanger to keep the mystery of the admin's identity alive.
What brands can learn: Admin reveals are a playful way for brands to entertain fans and show they're actively listening to comments from their online community. These reveals are highly engaging across platforms, so show yourself in a way that makes sense for your brand. Have a mascot costume? Film it for a video reveal. Have product photos that can be (loosely) humanized for a static Instagram or X post? Show them off as your "admin." The reveal should feel unexpected and exciting, so be unserious and have fun with it!
