Spring: An Excuse for A New Era
What it is: Spring has officially arrived. With the change comes warmer weather, new beginnings, and hope for the rest of the year. Users and brands all over the internet are celebrating the new season with their plans, gripes, and what this new season means for their personal growth. On social, the usual soft pastels, florals, and "eras" language are across platforms. Some fans are sharing their holiday plans for the upcoming religious observances and their spring cleaning hacks/tips as ways they're bettering themselves post-winter. Brands are currently taking the opportunity to reference new or returning products or pop culture moments that reflect seasonal change.
What brands can learn: Seasonal changes allow brands to experiment and pivot into new types of content and celebrate their new look/feel. With attention spans shorter than ever, people feel restless and stagnant, especially on the internet. A sense of FOMO and fears of inadequacy have driven more introspection and spawned pressure to exhibit change or growth. In the now evergreen "eras" of life, people are constantly reinventing themselves and entering a new "era." No matter how minor the shift. To excuse these new eras, people now look to calendar moments like seasons as a chance to "organically" grow and shift. Brands can adopt similar behavior to signal change, showing synergy with our followers that we're also striving for better (even in the minutiae).
