Tattourism is all about the experience
What it is: Tattourism has always been on the fringes of culture, but has recently become a mainstay of the mainstream -- with Gen-Z and millennials alike returning from trips with more than your typical souvenir, a tattoo! These tattoos can be big or small, but are typified by small mementos that can remind an individual or group of friends of an experience they hold dear.
What brands can learn: While tattoos covered in this trend are permanent, there is a certain je ne sais quoi around the nostalgia of a temporary tattoo, which is something your brand can physically leverage if you aren't comfortable working with real tattoos or encouraging your audience to receive and/or give tattoos. Ultimately, what you can take away from this is that Gen-Z and Millenials find fulfillment through meaningful action, and prioritize positive experiences that are shareable and relatable.
