Large pants are back-ish
What it is: Gen-Z may have a disdain for elder generations online, but they are not immune to accusations of stealing millenials 'flow'. The latest example of this is the rise in baggy clothing seen on the fashion-forward streets of metropolitan cities. IG aggregators like watchingnewyork chronicle the latest fashion trends spilling out of big cities, and provide unique insight into this baggy revolution -- like other 'Gen-Z' trends, it's important to remember that not everyone dresses this way; but with upcycling ever popular among Gen Z (Levi's baggy-silhouetted Low Pro Jeans have driven over 8.7M views on TikTok and sold out everywhere) baggy pants are here to stay.
What brands can learn: As always, this does not apply to 'Gen-z' across the board; However, understanding how Gen-Z dresses in certain audiences, especially on TikTok, is key information that should inform how you personify your brand mascot on social when speaking to Gen-Z, cast and style for marketing campaigns that may be metropolitan-centric; and overall shows that while 20-year cycles are a real thing, Gen-Z is putting their own individualistic twist on a classic, as should your brand.
