Coffee Messages

What It Is: Social users are setting their intentions for the day by drinking their morning coffee with a twist. Pairing short thoughts ranging in tone from motivational to chaotic with the beverage as a simple backdrop, coffee messages feel like personal affirmations broadcast as open conversations that anyone can chime in on. They feel super intimate, as if they’re someone’s very first morning ritual, while also relatable to tons of people who might be wrestling with the same thoughts in the comments. Life lessons might be tricky to grapple with first thing in the morning, but coffee messages prove it’s easier to live and learn when others are there to lend their support.
Brand Takeaway: People on social media are increasingly sharing even the smallest and most personal moments from their daily lives. Because they’re willing to wear their hearts on their sleeves (good, bad, or otherwise), brands need to sound like humans in response. This trend is also a reminder that a product can be camouflaged into a relatable post, rather than forced to be the main character. While coffee is the common denominator here, the overlaid messages are the catalyst that got people talking; including your brand as a subtle visual cue in a post could end up increasing its visibility more than if it were the overt star, like people expect it to be coming from a brand.
